YouTube video posting edited.

With he help of sealley123

Hope I spelled it correctly.

You can post YouTube videos.

Before you had a drop down bar that did it for you. So for newcomers or people who may have forgot. This is a slightly new way I believe to get them to work.

Go to a YouTube video you want to post. Click the arrow and it brings up a list and it says at the top share this video and at the bottom should be a link listed in blue. then press & hold on the link and a option menu will pop up and allow you to copy.

Copy it get out if you want or just click on the forum tab you were in.

Type The link that should work if you did it right.

(Example not a plug) heh.

If there is any easier way feel free to post. Thanks again to \\sealley123//
  • There actually is an easier way. Just paste the link. Vanilla Forums recognizes many social media website urls and will automatically embed the content in the forum for you. All a user needs to do is grab the url of a supported website, paste it, and the content appears. Supported sites include Pinterest, Vine, YouTube, Instagram, Vimeo, and Twitter.
  • Thanks big82s. I'm glad it helped. But whatever I posted about that was a long time ago and I think it is outdated. Even before the forum updated I couldn't post any YouTube links that would play. After this new forum arrived, I haven't even tried to post a YouTube video.
@ Krustybrand - is this new forum format considered to be "Vanilla Forums" or is that something different?
  • In the old one u just had to remove the s from https and it worked (full links though)

My understanding (perhaps incorrect and based in part on the error message we saw in the later phases of the changeover) is that this new version of the TSTO forum has been written using Vanilla 2.

  • Guess i didn't realize it was that easy.

I was used to the old way of putting the YouTube or images within brackets and didn't realize I could just copy and paste the link.

Would be nice if I knew about website stuff like that but sadly I don't have time for learning that stuff. Yet I can build a webpage I just don't have time for the little bits of knowlledge like that.

Maybe that was an overkill of Doh"s
  • Apparently with more knowlledge gathered you can just go to a YouTube video click the arrow below copy and paste anywhere in you're body of text and it should play.

But atleast there's two ways in case one happens to fail There's more then one way.

As always keep blasting you're screen w you're tapping finger for fun in the virtual world of TSTO.
  • I just right-click the video and it brings up several options. Choose "Copy Video URL" and paste it into the reply box. That's it. No need to remove the 's' anymore apparently, which is good.

I can confirm @KrustyBrand @sealley123 that this are the Vanilla forums indeed and its integrated video system should work etc. Its Version 2.2.112.3 for those of you who are interested. So far stuff is working fine but if you see bugs/glitches let me know either by post or PM.
