Best way to make money?

I am always too poor to buy the buildings to need. I see some of my neighbors witha lot of the same houses, is that how you do it?

That's a way to do it, certainly. It's called a house farm. The recommended houses to do this with is the blue house, which collects every 8 hours. Also, white houses are good too at a payout every 12 hours, plus they take up less space. But, they cost a lot more.

There's a downfall to this. They take up a lot of space and can look very crowded. A lot of people with house farms keep haphazard looking towns, everything all bunched together. That's the main criticism of other people with neighbors with house farms.

My own story: I house farmed until I was level 35 with white houses (around 150-200). I was determined to keep it until I bought all the land. It provided a nice cash flow. I kept it on the corner of my town, away from my actual town, and kept moving it to the edge as I kept buying more land. However, I didn't expect to feel so relieved when I finally got rid of it. It was a lot of tapping! And all that space really allowed me to design my town better.

Up to you! I recommend keeping your town and house farm separate so you can enjoy designing your town a bit. You will remain poor for a bit until you get a sizable house farm to allow a profit.
  • build brown houses, i started off with those and then bought the houses I can afford.
now i try not to get below a million. also, i'm very stingy so if i don't need it i won't get it.
as far as tasks, for a month i sent all my characters in four hour long tasks (if available).

i think those house farms are tacky, aesthetically. but it works, i've seen people with fifteen houses; white, pink or blue, ready for collecting at once.
  • Thank you all very much. Now I understand what "house farms" are. I saw many people use the term, but thought they meant Cletus's farm. I just found this site a couple of days ago and finally have neighbors besides myself (I have it on 3 devices) all on level 14. Is there a limit to how many neighbors you can have because I have a few even newer than me I think quit. Thanks again!
