Friends town never showed

My sons friended each other and me. One son can view and visit both of the other towns, but we can't see or visit his. How can I fix it so my other son and I can interact with my older sons town? We checked off public on all our devices and we searched for each other again to be sure we friended each other. We exited, logged off and shut off our devices as well. The only thing I haven't tried is to delete and reload the app and I'm afraid I'll lose everything that way. Any ideas? Thanks for the help.
