How to buy donuts? & Springfield Downs success!

To purchase donuts:

Go into your game,
Go to the bottom right hand corner and click on the 'hammer/saw' icon on far right,
Then hit the 'money/donut' icon. You'll see options to purchase donuts from a dozen to a boatload.
