Pink/blue egg balance?

Egg color is normal. It is assumed it based on your origin ID registration number (something you can't change). If it was odd it is one color, if even it is the other. It doesn't affect the game any, your prizes for gold eggs in blue/pink boxes are switched between your town and your wife's.
