Question about Gold and upgrade
No- your gold total will not decrease. Gold is cumulative and cannot go down

Same for me and my wife. I am now over 2000 gold away from unlocking the Marge skin. If my gold total keeps dropping then unlocking all the prizes shall be nigh on impossible.
