Is there anyway to use more items after the message that you use more items that the game can handle my Springfield is still half empty

You'll start getting warning 3000 items from the hard limit. As long as your device is not showing any problems you can continue up to the hard limit of 14,000 items where it will not let you put any more unless you store something.
