(Tips) Break Down Quests if you Can, You'll Get More Money.

I have everyone in my Springfield doing 60m quests. When I go to bed, I put them all on 6 or 8 hr quest depending on if they have one available for the toon.

It's boring and tedious but I'm still trying get quest buildings so I need money for the buildings and land and also I have to wait for required time for certain tasks to be completed. Checking every hour or two, I can collect a good load of cash and not be constantly checking the game like I was at the very beginning. It only takes me a minute to collect and reset everything.

If I'm on the game for a extended period, usually its just moving things around to make room.

Once I get all the buildings and am just collecting money for land, I'm just going to send everyone on 8 hr quests. Can't wait until I can start making my Springfield look nice.
  • To put it briefly, shorter tasks earn more per hour than longer tasks, but they require more interaction to take advantage of that.

If you have the time and the tolerance, set your characters for the shortest tasks they have and restart them as soon as they expire every time. If you're very far through the game, you won't be able to do this - you'll still be restarting tasks as tasks expire. Through mid-levels, I found 60 minute and 2 hour tasks were a reasonable combination of interaction and earning (for me), and as I get more characters and advance to higher levels, I'm generally doing roughly 2 to 6 hour quests (with around 8-ish for overnight).

Doing this, I've only had issues with money when I've chosen to splurge on more land than I needed or when I'd recently built a house-farm and it hadn't paid off yet. I also tend to be a few levels "too far" when compared to quests and buildings (I'm level 12 before I access level 10 quests, I'm level 18 before I access level 16 quests). Choosing shorter tasks also means easier access to further quests, as your characters become idle earlier. :)

Hey there everyone! Today I found an interesting tidbit that some people might not realize.

Let's say you put 8hr tasks on all your characters, and you'll still be available to play in 4 hours. Why not do two 4hr tasks? This will give you a little more cash then an 8hr job would.

If you wanted to, and seriously consider doing this, you could even break it down into four 2hr tasks with some characters.

I even have calculated proof to confirm this. (This may seem confusing, but it makes sense.)

I have 21 characters, and I use a pattern of 4hrs, 6 or 4hrs, 12hrs each day. I multiplied the income of a 4hr task, times 21, added it to ten 6hr tasks times that income, and eleven 4hr tasks times THAT income, and my total was over $2500 more then what I do on weekdays, 8hrs and 12hrs.

    (I did 10 x 6hr Income and 11 x 4hr Income because not all characters could do 6hrs.

...or you could just look at the listed rewards for the tasks lol. $70 for an hour task versus $110 for a two hour task. Obviously you get more money doing the hour long task twice. All the tasks are like this as well as most of the buildings (the brown house gives the most money, but takes the most user interaction.)
