This is just a follow up to the original post and some others. I have collected over 21700 goo over the past 7 days or so and haven't cheated or speeded up a single task in the game to date. I have deleted some friends that weren't active and I have double tapped haunted buildings and don't see any evidence this is taking away GOO from anyone.
I routinely leave my town haunted a bit so that others may collect two GOO per building, and I get two when I collect from the "double" haunted buildings. I have also been on vacation for a week, but I make 2000 or so GOO daily as I've had the bonus prize for more donuts 5 times now!
As far as not squishing gremlins, that's kind of bogus as well, because other friends can't drop gremlins in your town. When you tap gremlins and drop ten or so and they get squished, that's 20 GOO for you and your friend. If they reciprocate, then you get 40 each between you and can do this as often as people drop gremlins in your town. When you are away from the game for four hours, the lucky people that have planted gremlins will receive 4 GOO per untapped gremlin, but if you don't tap gremlins you are limiting other potential GOO throughout the day. Once again, I haven't experienced any evidence that double tapping a building is stealing and if you have friend playing throughout the day and most likely the world then there is always potential for more hauntings! If you click double haunted buildings and collect 5 ghosts, then you can collect 1100 GOO per day without counting GOO for gremlins and the ghosts that are generated by any additional decorations and the Indian Cemetery. I haven't sent any characters other than Maude haunting Springfield, which is what she is constantly doing, on any trick or treating or GOO related tasks. They take entirely too long and the payoff is petty considering what I've stated above. HAPPY TAPPING!!
Also this is a community based event, so why would EA incorporate a mechanism for cheating your friends? We are collectively contributing to the community prizes. And have been doing an outstanding job so far, I noticed the next prize is at 13,000,000,000 GOO and since the Clawing Zombie last night we are already past the 11 Billion mark! I have collected at least 12 donuts in the game dropped by ghosts but noticed the frequency drastically reduced for me around two days ago when I believe they patched the more than 5 ghosts "glitch". I don't know if it was a glitch or intentional to gauge how well the GOO collection was going to work.
