Cannot capture gameplay on UFC 5 using an external drive

Summarize your bug I am unable to capture gameplay via my external drive on the X Box Series X. UFC 5 is the ONLY game I own that the recording gameplay feature does not work on!
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Beats me.
What happens when the bug occurs? The on screen message says 'recording started' but isn't. Pressing the same button to stop recording, just results in the same 'recording started' message.
What do you expect to see? It should say 'recording started' when first pressed on the controller and 'recording stopped' when finished.
I own an Xbox branded external drive which should record clips of up to 1 hour on the console. As mentioned in summary, UFC 5 is the only game in my entire library where the recording feature does not work.
- The external drive has 1.7tb of space left, so that is not an issue.
- Recording works on every single other game, suggesting the issue is either with the game itself (UFC 5) OR there is a permissions issue that stops capturing gameplay for UFC 5.
I have tried resetting the entire console and uninstalling, reinstalling the game.
I have also tried turning off game capturing and turning it back on again. None of this works.
This fault is stopping me from playing the game entirely. PLEASE HELP!
