My career mode fighter moves that i unlocked are not working in quick fights

Hey 

so my career mode fighter in UFC 5 has learnt and leveled up on new moves and combos but none of them are open to me when I have quick fights using my fighter. Something even as simple as overhand hook, which is a basic fighter move is not working and doesn’t even show up in moves list during quick fights. 

Am I missing something is it some kind of  faulty game mechanics. 

please help!
