EA, Please Don't Forget the CAF Community!

As someone who has been deeply involved in the CAF community for years, I honestly have to ask: when is EA UFC going to seriously improve CAF?

I run and help manage SVG WAR, a CAF league that has been active since UFC 4. We have built a community of 1,000+ members, created countless fight cards, organized matchups, rivalries, and events, and put a huge amount of time and effort into keeping the CAF scene alive.

We have done all of this because we genuinely love CAF.

But at this point, it's becoming extremely frustrating.

We are still dealing with essentially the same archetype system we've had for more than six years. The community has repeatedly asked for improvements, and players have been posting feedback on the EA Forums for years. I've personally posted dozens of topics about CAF improvements, and I've seen many other players doing the same.

The feedback is not unclear. We know what the CAF community wants.

One of the biggest requests is simple:

Let us use our Online Career Mode CAFs outside of Online Career Mode.

We spend hours grinding, upgrading, and developing our fighters. We build unique CAFs and invest a huge amount of time into them, but then those fighters are essentially locked into one mode.

Why can't we use our Online Career CAF builds in Invite Mode or custom online matches?

Imagine being able to invite your friends, bring your own OCM CAFs, and create your own fights, leagues, tournaments, and events.

This would completely change the CAF experience.

Our league is a perfect example. We have already shown that there is a community willing to invest time into CAF. We have created cards and events since UFC 4, and people are still asking us when SVG WAR is coming back.

But there is only so much a community can do when the game itself doesn't evolve.

We need more freedom with CAF.

At the very least, please consider:

  • Allowing Online Career Mode CAFs to be used in Invite Mode and custom matches.
  • GET RID OF CAF archetypes. It's outdated!
  • Adding proper stat customization or more control over CAF builds.
  • Giving players more freedom to create unique fighters.
  • Adding more reasons for CAF communities to organize leagues, tournaments, and events.
  • Continuing to improve CAF instead of leaving the system largely unchanged for years.

This isn't just about one player wanting a specific feature.

There are entire communities built around CAF.

SVG WAR has over 1,000 members. We've been creating content and running a CAF league since UFC 4. There are players who have invested years into these communities. We've kept the CAF scene alive largely because we love the game and want to keep playing.

But honestly, it's getting harder and harder to keep doing that when we feel like we're working with the same limitations year after year.

EA has created some amazing animations, gameplay mechanics, and fighter customization options. That's why it's so frustrating to see CAF remain so restricted.

You already have the foundation. Please give us the freedom to actually use it.

If Online Career Mode CAFs could be used in Invite Mode, I genuinely believe it would bring the CAF community to another level. It would give people a reason to grind OCM, create their own fighters, organize leagues, challenge friends, and build communities around the game.

We don't want CAF to be forgotten.

We want to keep building communities like SVG WAR.

We want to keep creating fight cards.

We want to keep giving players a reason to play UFC.

But we need EA to meet us halfway.

Please listen to the CAF community. We've been asking for these changes since UFC 5, and some of these requests go back even further.

And most importantly:

Let us use the CAFs we've worked so hard to build.

That's how you take the CAF community to the next level.

That’s a fair point and one I actually just realized earlier when I read the upcoming patch notes. They really are trying to make the gameplay good which I appreciate, and it makes me okay with waiting for those issues to get fixed before moving on to these types of issues (which I’ve also been begging for a change). However, it’s still good for us to get our ideas and opinions out there so EA knows we’re still thinking about these potential changes every time we play. Like Benyamineel said, they have a great and awesome base for what could create a fairly deep creation suite, we just don’t have the ability to access it so it’s like we’re trapped in a room of one-way glass, seeing what could be but not being able to use it.

As for that CAF community, I didn’t even know that was a thing I’m joining rn!

With all due respect, they need to get the game running top notch and add actual fighters that are in the ufc before worrying about anything cosmetic or created. The games core selling point is it's an MMA game with a modern up to date UFC roster.
