no. mini games have no business in any sim game. may as well put up an overlay of candycrush for the submissions. anything that ruins immersion and disconnected from reality needs to not exist.
Ok. Counter question then if no mini game then how do they make submissions interactive to do? Also how do you think we could have a system where you get a surprise early tap like Ronda Rousey with her armbars early in her career? I would like alternatives if you say we shouldn't have mini games. Also what's your opinion on the timed posture up position?

the submission system in UFC 6/5 are great. are they perfect? no. i already have my own perfect idea when it comes to submissions, but that will be another post. mini-games won't solve "early surprise taps." Instant taps need to be treated like flash knockouts. Everything is a give and take and there is no perfect solution for everything. There's dozens of features I'd love to have implemented but are plainly impractical from a programming standpoint. . mini-games to me are a mortal sin and has absolutely no place in a sim. P.S. as for the timed posture up position personally I've never really noticed. everything can use an improvement.

That's fair. I personally enjoyed the mini games as it was a extra element of the game but I guess because I like the ground game of early games I see this new submission system as a problem because they took away all the unique submissions and left the genetic ones. And the postured up timer is annoying because if the opponent blocks 3 or more you may get two through and then are forced by the game to go back into closed guard. It makes grappling pointless and just makes he game a stand up game

in modern MMA it's pretty rare for any fighter to stay postured up for an extended period of time because it gives room for the bottom fighter to escape. most fighters are pretty quick to control the top fighter's posture and it's pretty rare to see one guy on top guard postured up just wailing indefinitely. That only usually happens during a finishing sequence when the bottom guy is all but out. more player control is obviously better, but if they will allow the indefinite postured up position, they should also make it possible for the bottom fighter to escape much easier, because that's how it is in real life. you can't have your cake and eat it too.
