Ok I feel like we're not understanding the others point. I'm saying the game shouldn't make me have to go back into closed guard. If my options pulls me down then I'm that's not a issue but when the game itself makes you stop striking and give up a dominant postured position I think that wrong. We can say realistically it's easier but we've seen wreslers ground and pound there opponents to a stoppage khabib, matt hughes, DC, even lesnar. It's easier on paper but it's different if your getting your face punched in and the game doesn't acknowledge that. That's my issue it makes you not your opponent claes the guard the game itself forces you to go back into closed guard and then your opponent head health heals. So all that damage was lessened because the game stopped the strikes

i'm not disagreeing with you per se. i'm saying that it's essentially a non-issue at this point. IRL ground and pound doesn't consist of prolonged postured up positions. You posture up, hopefully manage to sneak one big shot in, before quickly posturing down to keep your opponent in place, rinse, repeat. you bring up Matt Hughes and Lesnar, which is exactly why i specified "modern MMA." Lesnar's best days are well over a decade ago (though some may still consider that modern MMA). Fighters today are much more aware and react faster to unfavorable positions and not simply lay there trapped. Again, i'm not saying what you're saying is inaccurate, but what's happening in the game feels very natural to me that I barely notice. I never get the sense like, "oh no the game forced me to go back into closed guard!" It just happens all naturally.
