I raised this issue during the UFC 4 beta but I think that board is no longer available. Now, I think there is a great game inside UFC 3 somewhere but it is bordeline unplayable due to online lag and input lag, even in offline modes. 9 times out of 10 there is a 1 second delay for every button pressed. During a fight it will ocassionally respond well but then it reverts back to constant mini-freezes and delays to the buttons I'm pushing. The fact this happens in career mode too is infuriating. I understand delay and lag can happen online especially if using wifi but offline modes should be guaranteed smooth and responsive. I have an Xbox One S that is in decent condition. I've dusted and air pressured the fan area, I've cleared storage space, reset Mac addresses, performed several hard resets on the console and my internet router, cleared the cache on the Xbox, tried different TVs and TV settings but nothing works. Other games work fine and my internet is high speed. The same thing was happening to me during the UFC 4 beta so I'll be avoiding the new game unless I'm confident this has been or can be resolved. For the love of God someone help me!

@EA_Aljo Do you happen to have Dolby Vision for Gaming enabled under General TV & Display Options > Video Modes? If so, disable this and see if the lag is still present. Hi, to provide an update on this ongoing issue. So I did what you mentioned and it's still lagging a lot. Interestingly enough, I also noticed a discrepancy in latency between using a laptop and the XBOX ONE Series X. Laptop would have a lantency of 23ms while the XBOX ONE Series X would be as high as 120ms on the same network cable (basically, I unplugged the network cable from the laptop after testing to get the latency of 23ms and plugged it into the XBOX ONE Series X ethernot port to get 120ms. Changing ports does help at times, but that's sparodic.Hopefully these painstaken steps help someone along with me as well.ThanksOmar

@EA_Aljo thanks for the response - I’ll try the UFC ports but I don’t think putting it down to the wireless connection is the answer. As I said I did test it with a wired connection previously and it wasn’t any better, plus my other games work fine wirelessly.

Thank you.So...I been playing all EA UFC games from 1 to 4 on a daily basis, and I'm playing online, I only finish carrier mode once, so online is 99,9% of my playtime. My playtime in:UFC 1 = Days (can't find the statistics)UFC 2 = 37 D 19 H 43 minUFC 3 = 46 Days 19 Hours 11 minUFC 4 currently at = 4 Days 8 Hours 49 min...and people are right, you can have the best gaming set up, it doesn't matter, the INPUT LAG is there and destroys the whole gaming experience!I have:1. Newest LG OLED which has not only the usual gaming mode, but it has also the new DECREASED INPUT LAG feature, which means the lag is only 1-5ms !!!2. Router is ALWAYS wired with my Xbox One S/Xbox One, since UFC 1!3. Controller is WIRED too!4. I do AT LEAST once a day a HARD RESET on my Xbox One S/Xbox One and pulling out the power cable from the power socket! Doing so usually when stopping playing, then turning on the next day.5. I pull out AT LEAST once a day the ac adapter from my router from the power socket, the same like with Xbox One cable.6. My internet speed is 150 Mbit/s7. Still using the Ports on my router, which EA officially posted!THEREFORE, there is NOTHING on our/my part, that causes the input lag and you need to do the following to give players the gaming experience they deserve in a competitive fighting game, because with an input lag like it's occurring currently, it has NOTHING to do with competition at all:1st AND FOREMOST DECREASE THE INPUT LAG!That's the TOP PRIORITY for fixing the game. It's horrible nothing changed since UFC 2. It's unplayable at times.- It happens that 2 days you can play somewhat and then 2-3 days the input lag is so awful, that your opponent is able to strike 2-3 times in the same timeframe as you can strike once only. Also the hit register is recognized earlier for the one who has LESS INPUT LAG, so that the one with higher input lag isn't even within the reach of his opponent, but he gets hit, that's UNACCEPTABLE! You can recognize that by the way he absorbs a strike, he then gets pushed back weirdly by 180° or when he gets a leg kick, he falls awkwardly. And in addition to that, if the ping increases due to the opponent player being more far away, then it's even worse, and it's already very very bad!- The Ground Game and Submissions are effected as well of course. It's almost impossible to deny a transition of your opponent, let alone perform and accomplish a transition by yourself!Through my experience with the EA UFC games all these years, I can say safely, due to the back and forth between the input lag being there for 2-3 days and then disappearing for 1-2 days, that this issue has something to do with the SERVERS and the bad implementation of decreasing the input lag in the UFC games! Something is very off, servers are being switched from N. America to Europe and vice versa and other locations or something like that, that's the only plausible reason for the 2-3 days period of NOT being able to play the game without input lag.In addition to that, EVERY TIME EA does a server maintenance, the day after that, there is NO input lag at all, so IT HAS TO BE something with the SERVERS!Hence, you need to fix this EA and:1. 1st OF ALL, fix the bad programming regarding the input lag2. Do a SERVER MAINTENANCE ONCE in a cycle of every 24h or 48h AT LEAST!If we couldn't be able to play for an hour per day, due to server maintenance and we are able to play WITHOUT input lag because of that, then we would be ALL FOR THAT!3. And finally, give us a PING LIMITER OPTION! Not only the option to back out from the matchmaking screen if the ping of your opponent is more than 120ms. Everything above 80ms is just awful. Give us the possibility to SET A PING LIMITER where we can type in the milliseconds (ms). I don't want to play with people with a ping above 70ms for example!So again, please share this important feedback with everyone who's worked on EA Sports UFC 3-4. I'm talking about the equipment from your ISP. Having your own modem and router often gives better performance. You also aren't paying your ISP to lease the equipment each month. Again, I am not guaranteeing this will help. You may want to look up your modem/router model to see if others have had connection trouble.

Thanks for answering. I want to clarify that my ISP's modem / router results are consistently around the following:
Xfinity:
Download Speeds: 800Mbs - 1200Mbs
Upload Speeds: 20Mbs - 35Mbs
Latency: 20ms to 30ms
I've literally disconnected my Xbox (when I get the results below) and tested my connection using my laptop with the same ethernet cable that's plugged into my XBox and got the same results above, but when testing using Xbox's speed of my console’s connection Test network speed & statistics, the results for latency are horrible (see below).
Xbox Series X:
Download Speeds: 800Mbs - 1200Mbs
Upload Speeds: 20Mbs - 35Mbs
Latency: 100ms to 130ms

I definitely get what you're saying, but it's also entirely possible your modem/router just doesn't handle the Xbox connection as well as other devices. Does your modem/router have a QoS? (Quality of Service) feature? If so, try enabling it. Otherwise, I'm very sorry, but I don't have any other suggestions other than trying different equipment.

Thanks again for trying to help. The Xbox unit does have a QoS, which I've enabled, however, the modem itself doesn't.

You're very welcome. I'm sorry I couldn't get this resolved for you. You might want to do some research on modems and routers though. Especially, the one you're using. Others may have found ways to optimize it, but ISPs don't typically provide equipment that is good for gaming so it couldn't hurt to look in to it. So I finally got around to getting a new modem from Motorola, DOCSIS 3.1 Modem + AX6000 Router

So I can now say, I've literally tried everything. There must be some issue connecting with EA servers as the lag is simply horrible. I realize it's an old game, but UFC 4 is lacking in sophistication, it's almost child-like 🙂
The lag is very bad in UFC 3. Any other thing I can try? To recap, I have replaced everything, now the modem and not using my ISP's modem.

I test with the SAME ethernet connection that is plugged into my XBOX One Elite using my laptop and the latency reads 23-50ms. By the way I sent and got back from Microsoft for testing and it passed all tests. On XBOX, the latency is over 100ms consistently.
Other players are able to punch me at warp speeds (sometimes 10 super fast punches while I can't even do a simply jab!!! That's just horrible.

Where are you located? If you're in a more remote region that is far from our servers, you're going to have a worse connection. Otherwise, you've tried everything I can suggest. I would make sure the router settings are good. You should have QoS (Quality of Service) so make sure this is enabled and your console is prioritized. Also, are your ethernet cables old? They should be at least Cat6.
