So that doesn't work, hundreds of restarts later, I found the actual solution, you have to create a health event which causes the blue or red screen outline, which drops your opponent, soon as he lays flat on his backwith legs up for him, stack guard, L2+R1 and left on the right analogue for ps4 or LT+RB and right analogue left for xbox, if you time it right, the moment you stack guard and enter that command after a health event should let a knee bar happen, I can verify. You only need submit your opponent once with a knee bar to get a leg lock from top full guard, which fixes the entire bug

    *UPDATE*

EA_Blueberry: Marking this post solved since this tip has helped others. The team is still looking into this feedback though!

this indeed works. just a shame I had to experiment with this crap for 3+ hours instead of playing the game normally.... not to mention the bug is like 4 months old lol

  • I have just found a pretty good way to get around this and get Level 2 leg locks (rather than trying to go through stacked guard)

When training with your partner, take them down as fast as possible and get into North/South position on top, submit them with a north/south choke or windscreen wiper choke and when they tap they will be in the top position. Transition to sprawl (bottom) and then wait for them to move to your side (sometimes they just punch you, so you may have to restart) as soon as they do, press LT and up on the right stick to go for the kneebar as this doesn't require a stun, if you can get the tap before timer runs out, youll get to Lvl 2

Impossible to achieve leg lock. It's unreasonable to deny access to level 2 leg locks unless a player can complete an impossible task. I know it only requires you to do the lock once before you level up, but I have spent my entire career trying to learn this one move to see if it's even possible. It's not. Please include more leg locks in level 1 so that it is possible to level up.

I found this post on google, and I can't believe its 2 years old and the problem is still here. But hey, I can still buy all those sweet online UFC coins to get some stupid hair, nevermind the $100 million I have in career and can't even buy a blue shirt....

But I had to restart the training session dozens of times and eventually the leg lock option shows up, but you have to be fast and go for it as soon as you can before the training partner moves. I had the legacy controls so for anyone else who finds it on google, just restart the match over and over until the option for knee bar shows up at the very beginning of the match when you are in stacked guard.
