UFC 4 Patch 9.0 Full Notes

Hello EA SPORTS UFC Fans,

We are back with another exciting update for EA SPORTS UFC 4! This update includes two new licensed fighters, gameplay updates, and multiple other improvements that you can find listed in the full patch notes below. This month you’ll notice a new section added to our full patch notes titled “Community Feedback”. All changes found in that section were sourced directly from the community and the feedback you provide.

Rising superstar Kevin Holland has been heavily requested by the community and we are pleased to bring him to the digital octagon this month. Holland enters the game with a 4 star overall rating along with 4.5 stars for health and 4 stars for striking & grappling.

In this update we’ve improved the matchmaking system for online matches to discourage users from repeatedly leaving early. This will be done via a timed delay added preventing the user from entering matchmaking for a set amount of time. Additionally, you will notice that we’ve updated multiple other areas of gameplay that are outlined below.

Thank you again for your continued feedback and support in helping us make this the best EA SPORTS UFC yet!

  • It would be nice to have the possibility to edit movesets on a CAF offline, as in previous games. My brother and I used to create fighters and fight with them.

  • I just finished playing UFC4 Career mode, and after putting so much time into my character it is basically deleted because it is "retired" thats fine and all for the story, but I cannot use my character in fight now or couch play with my friends. THIS needs to be addressed, as game developers should not have such a glaring flaw.

In the future I am not buying any UFC game that essentially deletes your character.

PS: ATLEAST Let me customize my moveset creating just a custom character. Like UFC2..!!

I do not believe editing movesets is in the works, at least from what I've been made aware of. The team went into a different direction for UFC 4 compared to previous titles, nonetheless I'll continue to kick the requests their way to remind them what players are asking for.

Being able to use the career mode fighter outside of career mode has been a frequent request too, I'll make sure they hear that one again too. No word on that being added in future patches though, sorry.

    Thanks for understanding.

It sucks that I won't be playing the game anymore but at least we as fans of the franchise are heard.

    -sincerely a UFC fan.

3 out of 7 comments on this official post are asking for the ability to create & edit fighter move sets.

It's pretty obvious the design team went in the wrong direction for this game. All they had to do was to add to UFC 3, such as allowing us to use fighter's for character customization or more interaction in career mode. Instead they took away our ability to edit moves and stats, then added in microtransactions for celebrations that were free in previous games.

Like even if they didn't want us to freely create our own movesets they could at least do something like let us use fighter's skills like Max Holloway on a CAF.

It's just shocking to see how backwards this game went.
