What is the big green button in the bottom right of the screen ?

I just started playin this game (UFC Mobile) & the semi-tutorial gave the basics of how to play & controls, but I can't seem to find any more info other than just the bare bone basics. My main ques...

    I guess you can call this the hold meter or grapple meter.
