Why are 20 pt stat advantages not working on ground?

I'm sick of this stuff.  Why doesn't the 20 point or more stat advantage seem to matter on the ground?  If you have a 20 point deficit in the standout especially in kick and punch speed there's no way you'll ever compete. But the same does not hold true on the ground. It's not right for boxers with no ground  defense stats be able to sweep and deny so easily.  It seems like the only time I can really hold someone down is when I use a Ut fighter with 95+ ground defense and top game.   I tend to notice this occurs when my opponent only has a few cards boosting there ground stats up from base, yet I have a significant stat advantage. This is especially frustrating when starting with a wrestling base that leads you suseptible to juggling combos from strikers.  There needs o be a balance or a buff to the athleticism of grapplers in UT. Can this be fixed with a patch or is it time to take it as it is and have to wait for UFC 3?

  • UT has been ridiculous from the start. Props to GPD for being active in the community until he bailed and promoted a third party website that is riddled with spam ads and doesn't allow respectful EA forum members to participate, but there has been NO ultimate teem feedback or communication at all from the get go. I've always said that boxers are over rated. Stupid chin ratings with the ability to fully compete with maxed ground fighters if they understand the controls. As a ground fighter I can get finished with a single strike due to the pathetic chin ratings. Chin upgrade cards? Yup, virtually non existent. No matter what anyone says, this game is either pay to win, or favorable to people that have no jobs and can play for 14 hours a day. I constantly face fighters that are constantly superior to me skill wise in striking. It forces you to delete your fighter and start from the bottom again to face inferior fighters and then have just a brief moment of even marches until you get back into souped up over rated fighters. UT is a great idea, but it's badly damaged and neglected at this point. And by the way, what do I only have one ground skill upgrade card after playing this game since launch? Fix your card packs, because they suck. How many leg boost cards do I need? Listen to the community. Stop basing your game design on the top players that bail on playing the game in an enjoyable way and just resort to exploiting the games downfalls. It won't matter now, since the developers fuc*** the community and killed the only forums where everyone can participate. I've never had an experience with game development where I felt like a developer did something so innovative and the choked and fuc*** everything up so bad. I was absolutely tickled pink and felt like the community opinion mattered, and then the community died because it went to a third party website that censors everything and rejects participation. While I respect the intentions that the devs had, it was a HUGE failure.
  • First and foremost, my previous post was done from a mobile phone, so excuse the typos.

I have no idea why you feel the need to state that the developers aren’t “required” to participate in the forums. Obvously… which would be why I started my post with giving props to GPD. That doesn’t change the fact that Operation Sports is a poorly managed and very inaccessible forum for the majority of the “respectful” community. I have a history of complimenting the developer participation and showing appreciation for that on the old EA forums.

I migrated to Operation Sports and responded to multiple posts respectfully, and then received NO response in two email inquiries as to why I have not been cleared to make posts. It’s a sham. Participating in the launch and development of this game was probably the most enjoyable experience I have had in gaming. You don’t know me, but that says A LOT coming from me. I tend to be very critical of how gaming companies treat their customer base. So, to see everything do a “180”, it has been a terrible failure in my eyes. I know for a fact that there are thousands of consumers out there that share my views, but I am left with my hands tied. The difference between myself and the consumers that just put the game down is that I actually care enough to spend time posting in forums.

Ultimate Team IS and always has been neglected. You shared a link that brings me to the UT developers posts for July. Suggesting that he is “active” is a very subjective term. I only see comments pertaining to certain elements that I personally feel are more “convenient” for him to address. Why do I still have 600 leg health cards? Why have I only received three mediocre ground game cards since launch? Why are the athleticism ratings between ground fighters and strikers so disparaging? Why do ground fighters have absolute glass chins and no upgrade cards for chin ratings? Why do I dump endless amounts of time into this game for “premium” or “special” packs and get absolutely nothing that is worth anything? Why am I forced to create a fighter and build him/her until level three when I am fighting 90 OVR rated fighters and then delete my fighter just to farm cards and compete? I could literally write a novel about the deficiencies in Ultimate Team.

Disclaimer, I COMPLETELY respect that this game is still very much a project. It has a ways to go. But Ultimate Team is a sore spot for me. As a consumer I want to at least hear that they are listening to these things. I would never call out a developer for a difference in opinion. It is the simple lack of addressing general concerns that I’ve been hearing from launch. I could say so much more about this game mode, but for now I’ve said enough.
