Crypto drone can't respawn

I play Apex on PS4 and when I'm in drone view I can't respawn my teammates at the regular respawn beacons. Haven't tried it with Mobile Respawn Beacons but that doesn't really make a lot of sense anyway. So yeah I fly to a beacon and can press the button but nothing ever happens.

tried it in different situations btw, early game, late game, exit drone and enter again, nothing works
