DivineEel26170 From what I've noticed when I had played as Crypto, the squad number perk doesn't count anyone within 200 meters of the drone, but rather it counts anyone within 200 meters of Crypto.
I had noticed this when I had sent out the drone to scout an area out, and had saw a team nearby. The team was within about 150 meters from the drone, while the drone was within about 100 meters of me, and it still said no one was nearby on the banners.
