Strong Complaint Regarding Apex Legends Switch Shutdown and Lost Progress

サブジェクト: Strong Complaint Regarding Apex Legends Nintendo Switch Shutdown and Lost Progress

Dear Apex Legends Support Team,

I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction regarding the shutdown of Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch and the lack of any clear solution for player progression or data migration.

I have played Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch for nearly six years, almost every day.

My player level is 730, and I recently achieved the 20 Kill Badge after many years of effort.

I have also purchased paid content, including the Champion Edition and other in-game items.

With the announced shutdown of the Nintendo Switch version, there has been no clear explanation or rescue plan regarding player progression, badges, or purchased cosmetics.

As a result, years of time, effort, and money will effectively be lost.

EA’s Help pages describe cross-progression as a system that allows players to access their accounts and progression across platforms.

Based on this description, it is reasonable for players to expect some form of data continuity.

The current situation feels misleading and extremely unfair to long-term Nintendo Switch players.

I respectfully request clear answers to the following questions:

1. Is there any plan to support progression or cosmetic data migration for Nintendo Switch players?

2. If no such plan exists, what is the official reason?

3. How does EA justify the current cross-progression description given Apex Legends’ actual limitations?

Account Information:

Platform: Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch Username: debubu3_3

EA ID: Unknown (Nintendo Switch account only)

Player Level: 730

Contact Email: [edit: email address removed]

Region: Japan

As a long-term player and paying customer, I am deeply disappointed by this situation.

I strongly request an honest explanation and fair consideration for affected players.

Sincerely,

  • buccel Apex will still be playable on the Switch, just what is happening is that on August 4th, 2026, the Switch 1 version will be discounted, where you would then need to own a Switch 2 in order to keep on playing on the Nintendo Switch platform.

All your Apex progress and data is tied to your EA Account, and that same EA Account is linked to your Nintendo Account, so when you sign into a Switch 2 System with your Nintendo Account, it should log you into the same account that you are using to play Apex right now.

Furthermore, your Apex Coins and Exotic Shards will move over to the Switch 2, (however keep in mind that since you are in Japan, the local laws for your area does require digital currencies to expire after a set timeframe, (so be sure to use those before those expire)).
