US East Server issues from DDOS protected ranked games
When the shield icon (DDoS protection) is enabled in Ranked (typically from mid- to high-Plat and above), the game develops consistent issues:
- Packet loss in random waves
- Microstutter and sluggish feeling movement
- Occasional large packet loss spikes causing delayed response (e.g., pressing F to ping, and the ping registers 1–2 seconds later)
This only occurs when the shield is active. Unranked or custom matches (no shield) do not have this problem.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Queue into Ranked on US-East-1.
- Reach a lobby/match where the DDoS shield icon is visible.
- Observe packet loss, stutters, and delayed inputs.
Expected Result:
Normal, smooth gameplay without packet loss or input delay, as seen in Unranked or Customs.
Actual Result:
When shield is active in Ranked:
- Packet loss waves (small and large)
- Microstutter / sluggish motion
- Delayed responses to inputs
Notes:
- Issue seems tied to DDoS protection filtering on Ranked US-East-1.
- US-Central-1 Ranked with shield active does not show this behavior.
- ISP and hardware ruled out — issue is repeatable and specific to shielded US-East Ranked servers
+ If I’m paired with friends, they notice these same issues at the same time
