since yesterday i've noticed my weapons fire rate changing to single shot on its own. i made sure to remap the button to something on the far side of the keyboard as not to accidentally do it.
i start a round on auto shot and when i stat shooting at an enemy i find it has changed to single shot and gets me killed . i restarted the game and PC but nothing helped.
this problem only started on sunday, i didn't have it on saturday when playing.

Try to make a backup and reset your settings file to see if that helps. You can find it and delete it from this location C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Battlefield 6\settings\

Someone on TikTok suggested resetting the key mapping helped him. I hadn't changed anything in it besides the fireoate key bind after the problem occurred but did so anyways and that helped. I dont know why or how but something in there must have been causing this.

I’m experiencing the same issue. I did exactly what you did, remap the key to the far side of the keyboard. It’s still happening. I’ve seen some people saying it’s related to sprint, but that has not been my experience. It’s very frustrating because it gives me killed often.
This is also happening to me. I even tried to unbind the firing mode button completely and it still does it. Had to make a bind for it though because it keeps changing by itself and I need to be able to switch it back. REALLY annoying.
I found the problem with mine, I did the whole "set your rangefinder to shift" thing from youtube for sniping. toggle rate of fire and rangefinder are the same key bind even though they have two separate binds in the menu. so taking that off fixed it for me. if you havent done that then i dont know.
Having the same issue on PS5 but using mouse and keyboard. Re mapping it did not fix it. For me it’s every gun that has a fire select, across all classes. Every gun i have unlocked at least. Anything with a fire select is just about un usable. This started yesterday.
I think you might be on the money here. I did this too and I've reverted it now. So far so good. Super frustrating, I thought my keyboard was on the fritz with both keys not pressing and keys pressing too easily..
This is happening to me as well, mainly the assault class and I have the M433 equipped 😩
This just started happening to me. I'm using carbine and assault rifles and i can't identify any specific action that triggers the switch. At first i thought something was occurring when reloading but then i noticed random moments when i hold to auto and it will be switched to single fire.
