Windows Defender detecting Virus during BF6 startup

Whenever I start BF6 via Steam, Windows Defender will alert about
C:\Windows\Temp\Tmp7F0D.tmp because of Trojan:Win32/Vigorf.
(Note: in the file name "Tmp" is always present, but last 4 charakters vary every time).

Alert appears when the splash screen disappears and full screen mode starts.

Defender resolves the threat by automatically deleting the file but BF6 just runs normally.

Is Steam or BF6 causing this problem? Or the Anticheat-engine?

I had the same problem when I installed the game a few days ago. According to the information I found on a website it is a known false positive and the violation is triggered by an older version of EA's anti cheat system Javelin.

I just downloaded the Javelin installer, started it and selected the repair feature. This solved the problem on my system.

The Javelin installer can be found here:

I also suspect the anti-cheat system.
Tried your suggestion, but without success.
Neither repairing nor uninstalling and then reinstalling Javelin helped.
    Defender still flags it.

Note: This PC is still running Win10. My other PC is already running Win11. Defender does not flag it there. Guess I should really consider upgrading it...

    ups :-)

Edit: Spielst du über Steam oder über die EA-App?
