~1 second black screen every time I spawn/respawn since late July
Hello there,
Since around late July, I have been experiencing a short black screen of approximately 1 second every single time I spawn or respawn in Battlefield 6.
The game worked normally before this. The issue occurs regardless of where I spawn (objective, squad member, vehicle, etc.). Friends playing in the same matches do not experience it.
The game runs normally immediately after the black screen. It is not a general freeze or FPS drop — the screen simply remains completely black for about one second during the spawn transition.
System:
- Ryzen 9 5900X
- RTX 3080, 10 GB, 32 GB RAM,
- game installed on SSD,
- Windows 11, 25H2,
- NVIDIA driver 610.88.
Things I have already tried:
- completely reinstalled Battlefield 6
- updated the NVIDIA driver,
- cleared the NVIDIA/DirectX shader cache
- disabled DLSS and Frame Generation, confirmed that Dynamic Resolution (DRS) is disabled,
- tested Fullscreen and Borderless modes,
- completely reset the BF6 PROFSAVEbf6mp configuration files,
- tested all graphics settings on Low to keep VRAM usage below the warning threshold.
None of these changes made any difference whatsoever. The black screen remains approximately the same duration at every spawn.
I believe the issue was already present by July 30, and I don't remember experiencing it before late July.
Has anyone else noticed this specific behavior — a brief but systematic ~1 second black screen at every spawn/respawn?
In particular, I'm interested in whether this started for anyone else after one of the late-July BF6 updates.
