Aiming-related tweaks needed: ADS FOV and scope designs
Both of which currently drastically impact my aiming in this game after 3k hrs is BFV and BF1 (PS5).
1. The lack of the ADS FOV toggle and preventing Infantry FOV affecting ADS forces me to lower my preferred Infantry FOV I've used since 2017. It affects my aiming in a bad way and makes scopes below 2x practically useless as everything is absolutely tiny within them. Sniping on 6x zoom is barely functional. This never was an issue in the games of the past decade, and neither should it be now. It affects my built-up muscle memory, and I am sure that I speak for many others players who turned ADS FOV setting to use narrow FOV while aiming in the past 3 games.
2. With the gun and the scope already obstructing sizeable part of the screen while ADS, poor optic pattern designs reduce visibility even further. Some patterns are confusing, especially the one made of 8 dots surrounding one central dot. Some other patterns are pointlessly boldened and take up half of the visor's surface. Red dot reticles are also scaled too much. Some of them have useless circles around the center reticle. It's an obstruction of your ADS view, not an advantage.
2.1 With all of those poor reticle designs comes the fact that they are poorly illuminated. They look painted on like those plastic guns with scopes you played with as a kid. On the brightest maps they actually do not stand out this much from the environment, making all laser-like scopes feel redundant. Shame because most other FPS games have great laser sights.
Can we please ADS FOV setting back along with some reworked and illuminated reticles please?
PS. Sorry for phone pics of the examples. I'd rather play than spend time uploading screenshots lol
