Anyone else having 21:9 stretch issues in Battlefield 6? (Persisting since beta)
Hey everyone,
I’m hoping someone here might be able to help or at least confirm if they’re seeing the same thing.
Ever since the Battlefield 6 beta, I’ve had this ongoing issue with the game not properly supporting 21:9 resolutions. I’m using a 16:9 native monitor (ASUS ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDNG – 360 Hz) connected through DisplayPort, powered by an Intel Core i9-13900K and an MSI RTX 4070 Ti. I’ve set up a custom 21:9 resolution that I use in other games without a problem — but Battlefield 6 just won’t render it correctly.
Whenever I switch the game to 21:9 in fullscreen or borderless windowed mode, it doesn’t actually expand the field of view; it just stretches the 16:9 image across the screen, making everything look distorted. The only workaround I’ve found is running the game in windowed mode, maximizing the window, and using Lossless Scaling to lock the mouse cursor and fake fullscreen. It works, but it adds slight input lag and isn’t ideal at all.
What’s strange is that Battlefield V works perfectly in fullscreen and borderless 21:9 on this exact same setup — so I know it’s not a hardware or driver issue.
Has anyone else run into this problem with similar hardware or display setups? I’d really love to know if there’s a fix or a config tweak I might have missed. I love Battlefield and really want to play it in proper ultrawide without relying on third-party tools.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help or share their experience.
