BF6 Lag

Many people are experiencing lag and latency when playing BF6 on official servers. Doesn't seem to be a problem on community servers. People experience sliding, rubber banding, bullets not landing etc. See post here which contains a lot of people's experiences. It doesnt appear to be network related as people with wired fibre connections are experiencing it, or CPU/VRAM as people are experiencing the issue with specs that mean that this should not be a problem.

  • It's not getting fixed, they got the money and that's it. Season 1 update came out and this wasn't mentioned in it or by any dev anywhere so just move on.

  • It lags very bad for me on official servers with 64 players. Small modes are generally okay. Just had a game on a 64 player community server with unlimited explosives and it gave me zero lag. Network graph was flat even with non-stop explosives and massive destruction, so a good test for my pc. If they don't fix the official servers for s1 then I will be extremely disappointed.

I’ve definitely noticed it sonce the portal has been made useless. The standard matches put me in lobbies with 200-300ms ping. When before I would just use the server browser and play low ping servers like 20-30 ping. I just assumed a lot of players have already stopped playing so they’re struggling to find matches

This is killing the game for me. Please address this issue EA or I'll just seek a refund

  • 5070, i5 12600K, new m2 ssd, 1GBS internet, and I still have packet loss only on official servers. It was fine on the beta version on rtx 3O5O... I upgraded my computer for better gaming, and so far the result is disappointing... The game runs at a stable 200-300 fps and 14-40 ping, but none of my friends are experiencing this.

  • i have fine ping 30-35 (not the best) but i can see two yellow icons in top left corner a its unplayable for me. teleporting people are everywhere. never had that issue w/ BF5 or BF42. even in Beta i had these issues but i thought its only beta sh*t. but now the issue still remains on released version dont know what to do. i was so excited w/ release of BF6 but i cannot play it at all. only small modes ... bigger like breakthrough or conquest nope :(

  • Everyone please share and upvote this ticket so EA will actually care to fix it.

From my experience, EA official servers are extremely laggy to the point of being unplayable, where-as community servers seem normal to me. According to several of the trace routes I did in these laggy servers, my connection should be fine. All my drivers are up to date, my computers specs should not be the issue, like I said the game runs fine on community servers. The network overlay graph in the games settings also says my connection is fine in both EA official servers, and community servers. I use an ethernet cable. I've tried multiple things to troubleshoot, and it does not seem to be a problem on my end. If it happens to be a regional problem, I live in Lehi Utah.

TLDR: I live in Maryland USA but Battlefield 6 keeps routing me to the Santiago Chile data center every time I launch the game. It causes constant connection issues and high ping. I have done every possible local fix. This looks like an EA backend tenancy issue that needs a reset.

I’m hoping to find out if anyone else is running into this same issue or if EA staff can take a look.

I’m located in Maryland USA and my IP geolocation is confirmed by multiple lookup sites. However, every time I launch Battlefield 6 on PC (Steam plus EA App), my in-game tenancy shows:

    PROD_DEFAULT-SANTIAGO-COMMON

That’s the Chile data center, roughly 4000 miles away from me. As a result, every server I join has high latency, constant orange connection icons, and severe desync, making the game nearly unplayable. I can’t join my US friends without connection problems.

Here’s what I’ve already done (none of this fixed it):

Confirmed my EA Account regional settings are set to United States

Cleared all EA App caches (ProgramData, AppData, LocalAppData)

Deleted and rebuilt all Battlefield 6 settings files

Flushed DNS, Winsock, and IP stack

Set DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1

    Verified game files in Steam

Switched between automatic and manual IP assignment

Tested multiple VPN endpoints (New York, Virginia, Chicago)

Confirmed my public IP geolocates to Maryland on multiple services

Even after all that, the game still forces me to the Santiago tenancy every login

    What I’ve concluded:
This appears to be an EA backend issue where my account’s tenancy token is stuck on the wrong data center. Other users have reported similar problems in previous Battlefield titles when their accounts were cached to the wrong region. My account region and network are fine. It seems to be a stale entry in EA’s matchmaking or tenancy database that needs a server-ops reset.

What I’ve tried with EA Support:

Submitted two tickets (they don’t show up in My Cases)

No visible confirmation or escalation yet

    What I’m hoping for:

To find out if anyone else is also being routed to Santiago or another far-away data center despite being in the US

Maybe get visibility from an EA community manager or support agent who can flag this for a tenancy reset on my account

If you’re having this issue too, please reply with your location, platform, and what data center your game shows (bottom-right corner of the main menu). It will help demonstrate that this is a wider backend bug, not just a local problem.
