High VRAM Usage, Possible Memory Leak
I noticed that the VRAM usage seems to increase over time during a session on BF6 regardless of the graphics settings used i.e. Low - Overkill. I gave it a test and noted that while setting the graphics to overkill right after launch of the game and prior to loading into a game the VRAM did the following: Started at 8Gb of VRAM usage Increased to 10Gb at the point of the game starting (post loading) Sit at close to 14Gb of VRAM usage in the menu Drop back down to just under 7Gb after I changed it from overkill to another setting and back up to overkill This behaviour seems consistent while playing the game although the values vary but the same increase in VRAM overtime occurs and the longer the play session, the higher the VRAM usage (I've seen it close to the full 16Gb while just in the menu post game). It eventually reaches a point of noticeable stutters, and major FPS decreases whereby it would normally play at 100 - 120 and after some time it would average 60 - 90 regardless of map. I've seen this reported elsewhere such as on Reddit and Steam but I hadn't seen anything on here that I know of so though it may be worth bringing some attention to it. Specs tested on the following with up to date drivers: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Memory: 64GB DDR5 Storage Type: SSD Screenshots included from testing (It states custom on 3 screenshots as I had changed the settings back to Overkill within advanced prior rather than the overall setting)1.7KViews37likes14CommentsProblème TRES génant Battlefield 6 PC !
This is the second post to ensure that DICE will see it! Update: There is a VRAM memory leak but on the RTX5000 series card when using the Overkill settings. Game starts with ~10.5GB VRAM usage and slowly creeps up to max memory available within ~1-2h of play sessions. Once all the VRAM is occupied, performs drops by up to 80%. Using the latest NVIDIA drivers, or even the older version does it solve the problem. Only solution is to restart the game or change the one of the graphical settings to flush the VRAM. This problem did not exist in the BETA, which makes me surprised that many haven’t noticed it. I have reproduced this problem in the RTX5080/5090. Other system hardware was fixes (9950X3D - 128GB RAM - 4TB 9100 SSD)7Views1like1CommentSevere Performance Drop When Using RAM Below 3200MHz
The game experiences severe performance issues only when using RAM with a frequency below 3200MHz, despite stable FPS and network conditions. I verified this by testing both 2666MHz and 3200MHz modules, and the problem does not occur with 3200mhz5Views0likes0CommentsHigh CPU usage with AMD Ryzen 7 5800 and AMD Radeon 6600XT
I have all my settings on low and off in battlefield and have my amd graphics card set on performance mode but the game still utilizes 90-100% of my cpu which I see is common for this game. Hope the developers fix this issue as it was this bad in 2042 also.18Views0likes1CommentLatency issues/Packet loss
Saw on threads on steam and on other forums that me and a good amount of people have been having issues with latency while everything in terms of our oc looks good. Where you get in a fight and feels like your running in mud and bullets don’t register.Seems like you guys have memory leak since it fluctuates like crazy when trying to play and becomes unplayable. please look into this because when the game is actually working some of the time it’s mad fun.41Views5likes3CommentsHigh “Time Smoothing” Caused by CPU Bottleneck – Not a Network Issue
Hey everyone, I’ve been struggling with a persistent issue in Battlefield where the “Time Smoothing” (extra interpolation delay) value keeps spiking extremely high — sometimes over 300–500ms, even when my ping is stable (30–40ms) and there’s no packet loss. At first I thought it was a network issue, but after hours of testing I realized it’s actually CPU-related. Whenever my CPU frame time spikes or my main thread hits 85%, the Time Smoothing value skyrockets, and I start seeing: Enemies teleporting or “rubber-banding” Bullets not registering The orange/red latency icon constantly flashing Basically, the game engine (Frostbite) seems to delay rendering to “smooth out” the desync between the server updates and my local simulation — which means I’m effectively playing half a second behind real time. I did some digging and confirmed: It happens even on a wired gigabit connection GPU usage stays low while CPU cores max out Happens only BF6 It looks like the game’s network smoothing buffer is compensating for CPU scheduling delays instead of just network jitter, which creates a massive input-to-visual lag that feels like high latency even when the ping is fine. Could DICE or EA please look into optimizing main thread scheduling or providing an option to cap or adjust interpolation delay manually? This issue makes the game feel unresponsive even on strong connections and good hardware. Specs: CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz (16 CPUs), ~2.3GHz GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU Connection: wireless OS: Windows 11, Average network Ping: 35ms Would really appreciate if the devs could clarify whether this “extra interpolation time” is purely network-based or if it’s also compensating for CPU frame delays — because it’s becoming a serious issue for many players with modern CPUs.71Views3likes5CommentsMajor TN Spikes in combat zones
As the title says, my friends and I TN spikes whenever joining combat or entering contested zones. Were moving in slow-motion, but everything around us is normal-ish. This is only in modes with lots of destruction and vehicles (TDM and Domination work fine). The weirdest part is that we can play perfectly on community/portal servers. How come? My friend also had this problem in BF 2042 We have tried: LAN and Wifi connection. Turning XPM on/off, Turning VSync on/off, Turning settings down, Setting specific RAM speed, re-downloading drivers, and much more. Hope you guys might find a fix, because we don't want to play on "bot servers" all the time...11Views2likes3Comments
