breakthrough in-game music sometimes doesn't play (STEAM)

The in-game music for breakthrough, such as the capture music, capture successful, sector advance, end music, start music, et cetera can be sometimes inconsistent in playing. To elaborate, the capture music won't play, but the sector advance music will play. Sometimes nothing will play but the end music will play. Sometimes the victory riff won't play. Not sure how to fix or reproduce this in-game, but restarting the game seems to fix it for at least the first match.
