Bugged binoculars

I've run into a bug where, when using the recon binoculars from hand, it tries to place it in tripod mode when you are within the aiming function. It is not supposed to be able to do this and it breaks off many a painting sessions, where you have to re-aim again all the time. It is annoying and frustrating. In the video you see it happening, where I am just aiming and using the binoculars as intended, but it zooms out in trying to 'place it down' which I am not providing the inputs for (I keep holding the aim button). It is as if it continues to treat the binoculars the same as if you are not aiming.
