Cannot sprint and gun fires automatically

Ps5, controller, cross-play turned on. After playing a few games this evening, I loaded into a breakthrough game and could not sprint. My gun immediately started firing, acting as if I was pulling the trigger on my controller. Switching to sidearm fired a single shot but did not allow me to sprint. Switching to knife allows sprint like normal, but also tries to stab immediately after switching. The main cannon on a Bradley would not fire at all when tapping or holding the trigger down. Passenger machine gun on an Abrams would not stop firing, regardless of trigger pull. This problems persists through every match now, and are rendering the game unplayable. I have tried, with no success: updating controller firmware, resetting all controls to default, restarting controller, restarting ps5, adjusting double tap forward to sprint, this setting was off to start.I also can no longer skip the cutscene when starting the game. It’s as if my X button no longer works when playing the game. The controller works just fine in other games.
