When I go to type in chat it glitches and cycles through all the chat modes (hidden, when active, and show) then won't let me type. It kinda acts like I'm alt tabbed and I have to click back on the game to close the chat window and play the game its so weird and super duper random.
I just had this bug out on me again where J wouldn't work. Maybe I accidentally pressed Enter first (out of habit) but after doing that J (or any of the other binds for chat channels) wouldn't allow me to type.
I've since cleared the Enter bind for "Chat" to prevent it from happening again.

I unbound enter and am using J now too. I can type in chat again. It's insane that they still haven't fixed this after 10 days (along with the Eastwood B point supernova brightness bug)
and issues occurs sometimes on my NVIDIA PC as well, but J works
In my case it 100% has to do with msi afterburner, I just close the app launch the game and it works fine, anyone else im not sure but I would look at any overlay applications hooking the game
This worked for me... Hit all the chat related keys in the main menu, before starting a match, the Enter key, squad chat key, all chat key, party chat key and the chat visibility key.
