The Challenge ENGINEER 3 “Deal damage to aircraft with launchers as Engineer” does not appear to track any progress. I have damaged both helicopters and jets using the SLM-93A SPIRE portable air-defense launcher yet the progress bar remains stuck at 0/2500. Is this challenge bugged at the moment or did I get its requirements wrong?

This did not work for me. I think it's more likely you were randomly able to get the challenge to track and correlated it to using this loadout.

I too have still been having this issue, I've used everything from the RPG-7 to the SLM-93A, yet the only place damage seems to track for me is on REDSEC. I've even had three challenge show twice briefly as completed before reverting back to 1,350/2,500 damage.
having this issue with two challenges. Recon specialist 2 and engineer 3, both at 0 progress for over a week.
I am also having the issue where the Engineer challenge to deal damage to aircraft with launchers is bugged and not tracking progress.
I still have the problem of the challenge, engineer 3, not progressing.
