Changing to Squad Chat Isn’t Persistent

When queuing with a friend in my party the game defaults to “PARTY” chat. I go into settings and change it to “SQUAD” so I can talk to the other squad members that filled in, however I have to manually change the setting EACH ROUND match after match instead of the setting staying on “SQUAD”
