Engineer Specialist 2 Challenge
I am up to the 2nd Engineer Specialist challenge and it says I need to get 50 assists or destroy 50 aircrafts. I assumed the assists are normal and can be naturally achieved just by playing the game ...

I'm having issues with this still. I quit trying for this challenge about 20 days ago after reading the replies on this thread... figured there would be a fix by now. That is not the case. I have been bashing my head against this challenge for the past 8 hrs. I'm a level 135 with over 10k hours in the Battlefield Franchise. I'm hitting helis with RPGs and getting full vehicle/player kills and the progress is not tracking. The AA tank and AA emplacements don't count, the SLM radar guided rocket launcher is extremely tedious to employ but does yield progress. I'm just looking for an answer here, like what are the actual conditions that we need to fulfill in order to progress? The challenge text is either lacking in detail, or the coding is bugged somewhere.
I was having the same problem and then I switched to Escalation mode and got it done in a few matches. The AA tank and emplacements counted as well on there.
