Feedback on Sniper Sway & Removal of Steady Aim for Non-Recon Classes
I’d like to provide feedback on the recent 1.1.2.0 change that added idle sway and removed steady aim from sniper rifles when used by non-Recon agents.
The intention may have been to reinforce class identity, but the change creates several gameplay problems:
- It makes sniper rifles much less usable for non-Recon classes in Battle Royale modes.
- BR gameplay depends on flexible weapon use because loot is random, and removing steady aim effectively turns snipers into Recon-only weapons.
- Long-range shots become inconsistent for every class except Recon.
- Non-Recon players have almost no way to counter a Recon sniper at long distances, creating a one-sided advantage.
- This removes important strategic options when players find a sniper rifle before they have a Recon loadout.
A more balanced approach would be to keep steady aim available for all classes but apply penalties to non-Recon usage:
- Reduce steady-aim duration for non-Recon agents.
- Increase sway severity once breath runs out.
- Increase the cooldown before steady aim can be used again for non-Recon.
These changes would:
- Keep Recon as the strongest long-range class.
- Still allow other classes to use sniper rifles when needed.
- Preserve long-range counterplay.
- Maintain class identity without removing sniper functionality.
- Keep BR gameplay flexible and fair.
Thank you for considering this feedback and for continuing to improve weapon balance.
