Hello,
I’d like to report a repeatable performance issue that occurs specifically on some maps in Battlefield 6 — most notably Manhattan Bridge, Operation Firestorm, and Empire State.
Issue description:
During gameplay on these maps, especially during intense firefights, explosions, or large destruction events, the game sometimes experiences short but noticeable freezes or micro-stutters.
When this happens:
- GPU usage suddenly drops from ~95 % to around 10 %,
- GPU power draw falls sharply,
- several CPU cores spike to 70–80 %,
- and frametime in MSI Afterburner shows a spike up to 1300 ms.
These spikes happen irregularly but can be reproduced multiple times per match.
System specifications:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 5080 WINDFORCE OC SFF 16 G
- RAM: 64 GB DDR5-6000 CL30
- Motherboard: X870E AORUS ELITE WIFI7
- Storage: Kingston KC3000 1 TB NVMe
- Display: Acer Predator XB323QUNV (165 Hz)
- OS: Windows 11 Pro (latest build)
Additional details:
- The issue is map-specific — other maps run smoothly with stable GPU load and no frametime spikes.
- Temperatures and power limits are normal, no signs of thermal or power throttling.
- DPC latency is within normal range, suggesting the cause is engine-level or related to asset streaming/shader synchronization on these maps.
- Multiple players have confirmed the same issue, sometimes occurring simultaneously in the same match, which indicates a shared in-engine bottleneck.
Expected behavior:
Stable GPU utilization and smooth frame pacing across all maps, without frame-time spikes or sudden GPU usage drops during heavy action or destruction events.
Please investigate the performance behavior of Manhattan Bridge, Operation Firestorm, and Empire State maps — they appear to have reproducible frame-time spikes under specific combat/destruction conditions.
Thank you for your time and support.
