Ideas
Hello,
This has been going on since the latest patch, haven't seen anything from devs to resolve this..
So once you try to type anything ingame, it just freezes, you cannot press anything, do anything.. just watching as the game goes on.
Its quite annoying that you have to alt+f4 or go to windows to close the game.
Would be nice to be able to play the game as its meant to without constant bugs in every patch.
Waiting on a fix for this, thank you.

I have the same issue, workaround go to console and enable the PerfOverlay.DrawGraph = 1 for any reason then the Chat works.
Do you have maybe some stuff like RapidTrigger active ? if yes disable this as well - EA_Salmon28 days ago

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing this in the community. I understand your frustration, and I’m sorry to hear you’re running into an issue where the in-game chat window cannot be closed. We’ve also seen similar reports on Steam.
Regarding the behavior you described, can you reproduce it consistently in the newly released mode?
I’m not sure whether the following workaround may help, but some community players have shared that pressing "Enter" once while in the main menu or matchmaking screen, even if nothing appears to happen, can make the chat behave more reliably once you enter a match.
If the chat window gets stuck, you could also try:
- Alt+Tab out of the game and back in
- Pressing ESC once to open the menu, then closing it
- Toggling the scoreboard or map, then switching back
Thanks again for your patience and support.

Hello,
None of these options you provided is possible to do, any input made is futile, only closing down the game completely works.

Hi there,
A player shared a workaround that appears to have helped with this issue.
They found that the chat window getting stuck may be related to MSI Afterburner’s on-screen monitoring display. After disabling the on-screen overlay, the game was reportedly able to run normally again.
If you’re using MSI Afterburner, it may be worth turning off its on-screen display feature and testing whether that changes the behavior on your side.
Thanks, and if anyone else tries this, feel free to share whether it helps.
