Since you're both using the same router (I'm assuming), you're both showing the same IP address to the EA servers. This can be problematic.
One of the following may fix your issue.
- configuring UPnP on your router
- using a VPN (only one of you needs to do this)
- get static IPs from your ISP
Firstly, thank you for your response. UPnP is already on. ISP recently changed us to dynamic IP’s due to severe drop out issues from tempting in to work and other some other games. So I can’t go back to static.
secondly we’ve never had this issue with other games we’ve played, we’ve even had 4 people in the same party/game with no issue. Seems bizzare we would have to use a vpn just to play the same game. Fortnite overwatch etc have not had these issues. Would not expect an issue like this with a AAA title

"we’ve never had this issue with other games we’ve played"
A common phrase in gaming forums, which makes those of us who have been at this for decades chuckle. Newer games almost always push the barriers and cause us to update gear and configurations.
The architecture of your others games, including how they handle server load balancing, could be different than what we're seeing with BF6. I can't say for sure, because I haven't seen the detailed architecture.
You can subscribe to a VPN service very cheaply to see if that changes anything.

This is happening with me too though. Not sharing internet, different accounts. Duos is just bugged from what I've seen.

Yes yes, I’ve also been at this for decades bud hence I’m now playing online with my kids. The fact is no other multiplayer game we’ve all played (and there has been lots) has had this issue. A huge company like EA having this issue is ridiculous. End of story
