Hunting knife not working

The hunting knife when you first go to use it glitches through your gun. Even when you are behind someone and the "takedown" appears, it does the start of the animation but glitches, and doesnt complete the animation. I had it happen twice in one game then swapped to the standard knife and it works as it should.
