I have more than 4 friends who play BF6.

Yesterday there were 5 of us playing, and we discovered a matchmaking problem. How can I invite more people to play with me beyond the 4 players I can add to the game party? After all, BF6 sold well and has a solid player base.

The only possible way was to create a party with 4 players, join a server, then have one player leave the squad and the party so the fifth player could follow them. But when the map changed, 3 players stayed together while the other 2 were moved to a different server.

How can we officially play together with a group larger than 4 players?"

    Hi there. I'm sorry to say, there is no way to increase the squad size above 4 and keep everyone together from match to match.

    I'd be right in thinking they didn't listen to the community from bf2042 it was the same on that aswell. It was an issue most of who I usually played online with stopped playing it as we couldn't all get into the same game and it just wasn't as fun to play anymore.  Unfortunately it seems this is going the same way. I find playing with randoms in a squad mostly is annoying as they don't play as a squad and usually everyone is scattered on different objectives. It's not enjoyable anymore. Before 2042 we could still join on the same game as friends just not in the party. It's so frustrating as I like the game but I won't be on it if I'm not enjoying it playing solo.

    So let me get this straight: if I have five friends online, and three of them are in my squad, the other two are just… out of luck? Why? Why is this treated like an unavoidable limitation instead of a feature worth supporting?

    Imagine the marketing: “Battlefield 6 - play with ALL of your friends!” But instead we get: “Battlefield 6 - play with some of your friends!”

    It’s not just disappointing - it actively hurts anyone trying to build a consistent community. This wasn’t a problem in Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, Battlefield 1, or Battlefield V. It only became an issue starting with 2042, and now it’s back again, like it’s somehow acceptable.

    Why not expand the party size from four to eight? Why not bring back platoons? Why not at least let us join the same server reliably, even if we’re not in the same squad or even on the same team? The whole point of Battlefield is large-scale warfare with large groups of friends. Restricting that feels completely backwards.

    We’re not asking for anything wild - we’re asking for the basic ability to play the game with the people we bought it to play with!

    if (friends > 4) {
        printf("Sorry, soldier. Battlefield 6 does not support having a social life.\n");
        printf("Please reduce your friend count and try again.\n");
    } else {
        printf("Congrats! You are allowed to enjoy the game as intended.\n");
    }

    Seems legit!!!!!
