No HUD, No spotting??

I am writing this on the assumption that when you say the 'spotting mechanism', you're referring to the 3D spotting markers. If that is not the case, then you can ignore my response. 

I would say that the 3D Spotting markers are, in fact, a part of the HUD overall. So having the HUD disabled SHOULD remove the 3D markers. 
That said, however, I do think that those two things should be separate options in the settings. 

I have HUD on, but it has never worked for me - I can't spot anyone or anything. Press Q (on pc), get the voiceline on tanks, infantry planes or heli's and I get no 'dorito'/symbol or anything. 

Even changed to recon to see as that has class perks and gadgets to spot, and nothing.

I have completely reinstalled, changed everything to default as well, but nothing works.

Please EA, is there a fix to this? Kinda getting sick of everyone knowing where I am when spotted, but I can't do the same info.

Same for me -- I just assumed that BF6 no longer had the same 'spotting' as BF2042 !?!?!
