The orange/red dots that indicates a new attachment has been unlocked are entirely unpredictable. Some weapons you can clear the new attachment icon and it will still show the orange dot on the weapon thumbnail (no, this is not occurring from new weapon blueprints). Some weapons you can clear all new attachments and still have orange dots present on the attachment section. It is virtually impossible to distinguish which guns actually have new attachments and which have faulty icons on them. For reference, I am on PC but my friends on Xbox have also reported this issue. Unsure about PS.
In the above screenshots you can see that it's telling me I have a new item on foregrips. Once I click into the section, there is nothing new available. This isn't the only instance of the problem but context for what I'm referring to. This seems to randomly reset itself as it isn't persistent, presumably on game restart or some other event. This means the problem isn't staying but it is certainly not updating at the times that it should. If I clear the notification of a new attachment it should go away. This is a call of duty problem, c'mon.
The orange dot that appears to indicate that weapon has a new attachment sometimes does not clear when all new attachments have been viewed. It appears to be that every time a "new" attachment is cleared, a check is done to see if the weapon wide dot should go away. This check appears to also check if there are any camos, charms, or stickers that have not been seen. Viewing the "new" camo, charmm, or sticker clears the marker for that item, but does not update the overall notification for the weapon.
Figured this out after having to clear the "new" notifications for the new universal attachments introduced with the nightfall update. Also would be nice to have a "clear all new" button that gets rid of all of the dots, and make the "new" notification for universal attachments clear for all weapons once it has been viewed on one.
This happens on ps5 too. I had the bug before this update and its even worse now..

I have the orange dot on e eything now and after earn new weapon it says new by every one of them. You get a added item to the item to the weapon and the orange dot on mine stays there now also.

since yesterday it doesnt go away even after restarting the game
maybe a "seen all" button or something like that would fix that. it was exhausting clicking through all weapons just to click on violet laser and the new flashlights.

I have the orange dots on the USG-90 and SOR-300SC despite checking all new equipment, camos, charms and stickers, this dot will not go away. I’ve closed the game, restarted the Xbox, even deleted the game and reinstalled it.

Same for me as well, plus levels say 0.
And under Profile Icon I have an Orange dot, but I have clicked on all the icons. The dot still remains.
Also the squad post-game screen is missing the squad mates and there stats below almost every time.
Same for me, It is when you unlock a new weapon package/unlocking a new weapon since the new patch. E.g I unlocked a weapon package for the M60 which I've had at level 50 for over a month now. No orange dot on the new weapon package so I can't remove the dot from the weapon it self.
Very annoying.
Some of the dots on my weapons did not go away no matter what I did and clicked. Wanted to come here to post a screenshot. But then the EA Anticheat update made my PC Reboot and killed all my settings and keybinds. Now all my yellow dots are gone. Thats one win at least lol... Took me 2 hours to have my settings back to like 90% or so...
We need some button to just flag all the notifications as read/completed/watched
