Painted Air Targets Can Still Flare

What's the point of painting a target when it can just flare away a locked on, painted missile?

Clearly this is broken. Air vehicles that are painted should not be able to flare away a missile. That's the entire point of painting a target.

  • The only instance where this works is with the IFV's ATGMs. Unless they've fixed it since then.

It's not supposed to work with the IFV ATGM. It's not supposed to happen at all. There aren't supposed to be missiles that ignore flares. Painting allows missiles to lock targets they can't normally lock, and increase lock on speed and damage. If painted jets couldn't flare missiles, they would be completely useless. The second you tried to do anything other than hide behind mountains, you would be painted and killed. In fact that's already what's happening with the IFV there's literally no counter to it. If someone has an IFV and a painter, they can paint your jet from spawn on some maps and get a guaranteed kill

The rockets are suppose to track the designated target not a heat signature, they should ignore flares.

While this may be true in a simulation game, it is not balanced for Battlefield gameplay. We see the opposite in all other battlefield games and it makes sense from a gameplay perspective. The existing IFV ATGM behavior is likely a bug.
