Ping system attaches incorrectly to walls or edges instead of target point (PS5)

Hi,

I’ve noticed a consistent issue with the ping system. When I try to ping a specific spot using my crosshair, the marker doesn’t appear exactly where I’m aiming. Instead, it often snaps or attaches to a nearby wall, edge, or object, even though that’s not where I’m pointing.

This makes it difficult to accurately communicate positions or targets with teammates. It feels like the ping raycast might be detecting collision surfaces too early or prioritizing geometry over the actual crosshair aim.

Could you please look into this? It would be great if the ping appeared precisely where the crosshair is pointing, just like in previous Battlefield titles.

Thanks!

  • Happens on Xbox too. The ping system in BF6 is trash. I have been manually spotting in Battlefield for 15 years and have NEVER not been able to spot whatever I’m ADS’ing.

Another annoying and unnecessary change in BF6  is the fact that after two decades of Battlefield,  DICE moved manually spotting from the RB button on the Xbox controller to something else!!! Why do you insufferable BF devs  insist on reinventing the game with every new BF title??? If it’s not broken, please don’t “fix”.

Let’s not forget the fact that you can’t spot at all while in a gun position from inside all vehicles and aircraft. WTAF DICE?

You can change a buttons layout in the settings. The vehicle mapping too.
I think that you can spot in gunner position, just need to select a button for it.

To be fair, the BF team deserves credit — the button mapping system is quite complex.
