Player stuck in downed state after bleed-out – unable to respawn or be revived

I went to revive my teammate, I jumped, and pressed E to revive. It froze me in place, and I got sniped. When I tried skip to respawn, it failed and I was permanently down and sat there for the remainder of the match. My teammates couldn't get a chance to revive me, so I couldn't find out what would happen if I was revived.
