The only way out of it is, holding tab and walking with WASD into combat, once you die then you get respawned and everything is normal. just sometimes at teh start of the game i like looking at who im playing against. and when i hold the tab button it freezes my screen. ESC doesnt work either. Shift tab also does nothing it completely locks the game out.
I tried other options like talking to adding friends but it just completely stays there. My mind works as a former QA lol I try to break this game as much as possible without "cheating" in the sense of going places I shouldnt be.
Chat also works during this UI freeze. i was asking players to kill me so i can get out of it lol.
