Recon UAV

I don't know if this is a bug or how it i meant to be, but why when you reach the UAV as Recon and activate it, why does it reveal everything on everyone else's mini map and screen, but nothing for the person that activated it? The person that activated it gets nothing from it, I think that's a bit weird.
